Eyebrow Lamination
Au Naturel or with Hybrid Henna Tinting
The Miss Highbrow eyebrow lamination appointment is a keratin infused treatment that tames and shapes unruly eyebrow hairs. An eyebrow lamination will give you a more youthful appearance without having to apply daily makeup. This treatment can be done without hybrid henna tinting, however, personally I think the tinting gives it the most perfect and defined finish. This appointment is recommended every 8- 10 weeks.

Microblading
Microblading is the most natural form of permanent makeup by mimicking fine hairlike strokes created by a manual handheld blade tool to create fuller brows. This is perfect for those who want just a base for an everyday look with the option to enhance a dramatic look with makeup. This technique is mostly compatible with dry skin. It can be applied on oily skin but may have a shorter retention rate and strokes may not heal as crisp.
Benefits of Microblading:
- Natural look
- Mimics hair like strokes
- Good for more dry skin types
- Good for coverups that are light
- Lasts up to 1-2+ years depending on skin type and lifestyle
Microblading Hybrid Shaded Brow
This method compliments microblading by adding a soft, subtle shading for more depth and a slightly defined look created by a microblading tool and machine. This style is best suited for those with normal to dry skin. If you want a natural look while having some shading throughout the brow, then this would be your best choice.

- Natural fronts of brows
- Good for normal to dry skin types
- Good for most coverups
Lash Enhancement Eyeliner
This procedure places pigment along the top eyelashes to define the eyes and gives the illusion of thicker, darker and fuller lashes. It is created with a machine to apply a more shaded lash line.

- It accentuates your eye shape and colour without the need for traditional makeup eyeliner
- You don’t need to apply eyeliner every day
- can make your lash line look thicker, fuller and darker

We recommend on a dry healing method (until the scabs are gone – usually it takes about one week, might be longer for some, but generally about that time)
Day 1– may be some swelling by the end of day. Clients may apply ice over a clean cloth, but not directly on skin.
Day 2– may be some swelling but should go down by the end of this day or the next.
Day 3– skin may feel dry, this is normal. Please use very sparingly cream supplied after your treatment and not in excess.
Day 4 onward- continue to keep area dry and free of makeup/products until scabs are gone usually around 5-10 days (no saunas, pools, sunbathing and don’t peel scabs)

-
Use of Sauna/Steam is possible, but may weaken the effect of your treatment

After your semi-permanent eyebrow treatment is complete, for the first three days please blot your eyebrows with a slightly damp cotton wool pad using pre boiled and cooled down water morning and evening. Please be sure to not ‘soak’ the eyebrows as this will affect the final healed results. After blotting the brows, please apply a fine layer of aftercare ointment which is provided at your appointment in your aftercare kit. Be sure not to suffocate the eyebrows with too much ointment.
After the three days of this aftercare routine is complete, please apply a thin layer of ointment once per day. Repeat this morning and evening until the 14 days is complete.
Please do not apply any creams near your eyebrows that contain retinol, vitamin c, glycolic/AHAs and other active ingredients, this can result in your eyebrows fading faster. Do not apply any fake tan near your eyebrows for the two-week healing and be careful with any use of exfoliation cream.
Do not apply any make-up directly to your eyebrows, you can wear make-up/apply creams around the eyebrows but being careful not to get any on the eyebrow.
Please do not soak or submerge your eyebrows, this means you cannot let water run down your face in the shower, head in a swimming pool/ocean/ sauna/ steam room etc.
Please do not exercise to the level where you will sweat. Saline solution is used in tattoo removal, so sweating through your brows will result in poor pigment retention.
Please do not expose your eyebrows to UV rays from the sun or sun bed. Once they have healed, if you are exposing them to UV rays then a high factor sunblock must be worn, as it will fade your eyebrows prematurely.
-The eyebrow procedure will not affect the hairs of your brow so you will need to continue to tweeze/wax or thread unwanted hair, and if you have chosen a brow colour darker than your natural eyebrow hairs then hybrid henna tinting may be required. But please wait till your eyebrows are healed before doing so.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE FIRST 2-4 WEEKS AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
For the first day or two, the area may be a little swollen, irritated and red.
The pigment colour will darken by day 2 after the treatment(it is essentially forming a scab), and will continue to feel dark until the eyebrows flake, at which point the colour will start to lighten.
Between days 4-7, the eyebrows will begin to flake and shed. Do NOT pick or help the flaking along.
The eyebrows will then often appear light in colour in the areas that have flaked. This is because the eyebrows are not fully healed at this point. The deeper layers of skin are still healing and masking the pigment. The pigment will strengthen in appearance over the next few weeks. You will not see the fully healed result until 4-5 weeks post treatment. Once the flaking is done you may wear makeup on your eyebrows to even things out.
Before leaving your appointment, you will be provided with a second appointment in around 6-8 weeks. This appointment is where I perfect the brows and make any adjustments.
- 30 DAYS BEFORE PROCEDURE:
- Avoid Botox and fillers around the lip area.
- Avoid Glycolic acid, chemical peels, and laser treatments on the face
- Avoid Retinols and anti-aging creams
2 WEEKS BEFORE PROCEDURE:
- Avoid all facials, bleaching treatments, or waxings around the lip area
- Avoid extensive sun exposure and sunburn on the face
1 WEEK BEFORE PROCEDURE:
- Avoid any blood thinning medications
- Avoid fish oils, DHA supplements, cayenne supplements, turmeric, vitamin e, niacin (or anything that can cause blood thinning)
- Keep your lips well hydrated with a good lip balm
- If you have ever had a cold sore, been prone to any type of cold sores (herpes simplex virus) or you may have the herpes simplex virus that lies dormant in your system, this procedure could cause an outbreak. It is best to consult with your doctor and upon your doctor’s recommendation, take doctor-prescribed medication such as Acyclovir, Zovirax, or Valtrex before and after the lip procedure to help prevent or lessen the severity of an outbreak.
1-3 DAYS BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE:
- Avoid alcohol (especially red wine)
- Avoid coffee or tea (1/2 cup is ok, drink decaffeinated) or excessive amounts of caffeine
- Gently exfoliate your lips 2 days prior to your procedure, 2x/day (you could use sugar and coconut oil mixture for a natural exfoliate)
- Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water (the first sign of dehydration is dry lips)
- Immediately following the procedure:
- 1) I will give you a lip moisturizer to use for 7 days. Only use this on your lips and gently apply with a clean finger or gloss stick I provide. Only a very light layer as needed for 7 days to help moisturize. Only a very thin layer is needed to allow the lip skin to breathe.
- 2) I will give you damp gauze to gently dab your lips to remove any lymph fluid every hour for 5 hours after the appointment ONLY for the first day. This is a very important step because if this mostly clear, yellowish fluid is not removed, it can cause scabbing, and more scabbing means less retention of the pigment. Don’t be alarmed if a little pigment comes off onto the gauze. This is from the lymph fluid and completely normal.
- 3) If you should experience swelling, an ice pack may be applied using a thin protective barrier such as a paper towel. Icing is most effective in the first 24 hours following the procedure.
- 4) If your lips are really sore or swollen, you can take a pain reliever or anti-inflammatory medication like paracetamol or a more natural alternative like arnica pills.
- Within 21 days, lips go through 3 phases:
- 1st phase “looks too dark”: About 3 days with chapping (day 1-3)
- 2nd phase “looks too light”: Frosty and loss of colour (days 4-13)
- 3rd phase “looks just right”: Blooming (days 14-21)
Just relax and be patient. It’s a process!
Day 1: Swelling, tender, heavy thick lipstick with a reddish brick colour
Day 2: Slight swelling, reddish and tender with a slightly metallic flavour.
Day 3: Less swelling, thicker texture, sore, hot feeling with an orange colour effect
Day 4: Exfoliation/Peeling begins causing very chapped lips
Day 5: Very chapped lips but almost finished with the chapping stage
Day 6: A soft, rich colour begins to appear
Day 7-13: Lip colour disappears and the “frosty” stage begins as a white-ish, lighter haze on the lips
Day 14: Colour slowly and gradually develops from within each day until day 21 or about 3 weeks post-procedure
Day 21: Healing is complete. The true colour is revealed as you see it. Your lips will remain a bit dry for 1-2 weeks after procedure, but be sure to keep them hydrated and drink as much water as possible.
Important Rules During Healing and Aftercare:
- Avoid touching lips with fingers
- Avoid toothpaste on lips and use gentle dental care during the healing process
- Blot with a tissue, don’t rub during healing
- Drink through a straw until the peeling is complete
- To avoid infection, do not kiss until the scabs have completely come off
- No conventional lipstick be worn during the healing process nor any petroleum products
- Gently apply with a clean cotton bud a very light layer of aftercare gel several times a day during the healing process to help moisturize. A very thin layer is used to allow the lip skin to breathe.
- Use a clean, dark pillowcase to prevent possible ink stains, and try to sleep on your back as much as possible
- Be careful when putting on or taking off clothes over the head
- Use medication if necessary for cold sores
- Do not pick or peel your lip skin
- Stay out of direct sun exposure. Once healed, use a chapstick with SPF to help prevent loss of colour
- No smoking until fully healed
- Do not evaluate lip results until 21 days after the procedure
- The colour of the lips you leave the appointment with is not your final colour (It can fade up to 40-50%)
- The final colour will be soft and natural
- Perfecting/follow-up touch-up appointments should take place 6-8 weeks following the initial lip procedure

Skincare
One of the key things to remember about any treatment, is that there’s no quick fix. Facials – like any other beauty treatment – should be thought of as one part of a wider regimen. If you haven’t got your daily skincare routine down, one facial won’t be that transformative.
It’s also unlikely that you’ll be leaving the salon with perfectly poreless skin. In fact, you may experience a break out in the days following a treatment. This is because facials pull the impurities deep within your pores to the surface; for some people, the skin gets worse before it gets better. Ultimately though, facials detox the skin; they can remove years of built-up sebum and dead skin cells from the pores, leaving your face feeling squeaky-clean.
Luxury Dermaplaning Treatment
This is an effective exfoliating treatment that safely removes layers of dead skin and soft facial hair that gives instant results with no downtime. Your skin will appear brighter, smoother glowing and more youthful. The treatment starts by a gentle and continuous steam throughout treatment, double cleansing, face massage and extraction followed by a Demaplaning procedure which uses a blade that glides over the face removing dead skin and hair. The treatment is finished by application of a mask, serum and SPF and LED light. Before the words enter your head, no – having this treatment will not result in you growing a beard. Vellous hair cannot be changed into thicker dark hair. Treatment is suitable for most skin types even those with rosacea or who are pregnant. Only high-quality surgical derma blades used as well as high end Korean skincare brand Genosys.

This is then followed by a light facial peel (which requires a patch test dependent on strength) The treatment is finished by application of a collagen mask, serum and SPF and LED light. Before the words enter your head, no – having this treatment will not result in you growing a beard. Vellous hair cannot be changed into thicker dark hair. Treatment is suitable for most skin types and peel not recommended throughout pregnancy.
Microneedling
Microneedling is a facial skin rejuvenation technique in which many tiny sterile needles are used on a small area of skin. The tiny pinpricks stimulate recovery mechanisms in the skin, increasing the production of collagen by fibroblasts. By encouraging the body’s own repair mechanisms, microneedling is an effective technique within our skin rejuvenation armoury. There are home devices on the market but these are advised against using because of the risk of introducing infection. The treatment begins with double cleansing, followed by topical numbing to target area(s) to make treatment more comfortable. Genosy HES POWER SOLUTION serum is used the treatment is completed with LED light to help speed up skin repair and recovery The device used to deliver microneedling looks a bit like a pen – the tip contains the tiny needles and is used to target specific areas of skin. The fine lines around the eyes and the upper lip, for example, can improve after microneedling treatment.

- Don’t wax or shave (up to 48 hours) before a facial. Hair removal can make your skin feel more sensitive, so you’re likely to experience discomfort (like tingling or stinging) during the treatment if you’ve waxed or shaved beforehand.
- Think about what you’ve got planned. The fact is that your skin may be a little red immediately following any facial treatment – this is totally normal and to be expected. Any redness will clear up within a day, but you might want to pass on date night if you’ve spent all afternoon at the beauty salon!
- Are you taking any medication? If you’re using an oral medication that’s known to thin the skin (such as Roaccutane), it’s recommended that you discontinue use up to 3 months before getting a facial treatment.
- Avoid sun bathing and tanning beds at least one week before your treatment. If you’ve got sunburn, facials are the last thing your skin wants (or needs!). Let any sun damage properly heal before booking a treatment. After a facial, your newly exfoliated skin will be more sensitive to the sun’s harmful rays too, so stay out of it for a few days. And remember you should always apply sunscreen (yes, even to your face!) before heading out into the sun.
- Don’t over-exfoliate in the two or three days leading up to it. Since most facials include an exfoliating treatment anyway, it’s important not to let your skin become too sensitive before its properly buffed clean.
- Don’t pick your skin! Ideally, you shouldn’t do this anyway, but you really need to avoid picking at your skin after getting a facial. It’ll be especially sensitive after all the scrubbing, extractions and pore-opening treatments; messing with it some more can cause irritation – and even scarring.
- Avoid using heavy makeup! After a deep cleanse, your pores will be more open, leaving them more susceptible to bacteria. Whilst it may be tempting to load on your full-coverage foundation if your face is looking a little red, you should allow your skin to settle. Stave off makeup until the following day, and make sure you’ve cleaned your brushes and applicators thoroughly when you do apply it again.
- No gym or sauna! Whilst it’s always good to work up a sweat, you should reschedule your gym session following a facial; sweat can irritate freshly exfoliated skin. Similarly, saunas are a no-go post-treatment. You’ve already been cleaned and steamed; heating your face up and steaming it some more is likely to irritate your skin or lead to broken capillaries.
